your work is not that bad. I would kill to know flash and css. I am stuck in print until I can teach myself web and animation stuff.
And, some of the most successful websites have a shitty design...It is not about the design it is how informative is the information you're putting out and is it easy for the customer or client to understand and does it accomplish what needs to be accomplished.
And the critique stuff is a power trip but it is helpful, try not to take it personal. Personally, when someone says my works sucks i want to punch them in the jaw but after awhile you're like...You're right.
This is the reason multiple concepts, sometimes they way you want it or the client wants it just doesn't work.
