I can see both sides for Flash sites. I see a lot of sparkly Flash sites out there that put a little too much glam in everything (I'll admit I've done it in the past too). Flash 'can' do a lot of good things for content, it's just a matter of spending the time to implement it.
However, Flash as a presentation tool for the web is unmatched. Flash ads, for example, (good Flash ads) can't be done with other web scripting languages unless it's a large video download (talking about jquery, css, html, and the likes). The reason why Flash was invented in the first place was as a low file size delivery tool for the web. It began as a presentation tool and since then it has just built onto itself -- allowing video, character animation, text effects (yes, text effects), and the likes...plus it can have dynamic modular content...plus just about every computer user can view Flash...plus it works on both Mac and PC....plus you don't have to worry if it's compatible with your shit browser.
Why wouldn't you want to work with it? Back button functionality? Heh...
