In some ways, something like Flash is a far superior platform than the patchwork solution of HTML/ PHP/ JS. If you were designing the web from scratch, why WOULDN'T it include an easy way to set custom fonts? Or animate anything you wanted? Not to mention having an end to end solution for something instead of having to use 3 different programming/markup languages.
Doesn't mean I would use Flash for everything. But it does benefit from having been developed holistically instead of in pieces.

- yep i agree , my main concern with flash is when you compile something you get so much 'trash' sometimes, let me give an example:********
- you an example: with flex you would never be able to build a rss feed wich weights 2k, you dont have all the control********
- you could have with javascript or any other free language********
- but i like flash , yes for animations and graphics is really cool but the software itself has been getting bulkier********
