I don't get any of these sites either. Sometimes QBN feels a bit like a social networking site, but at least there is valuable information and resources for the design community here.
Just having a cell phone for me sometimes feels like a huge burden, because anyone can get ahold of me at anytime. These social networking sites take that to the next level, and now people can even know what you are doing at any given time. It's one thing to share your very personal thoughts with trusted friends, but plastering them all over the internet seems like a mistake to me. I signed up for Facebook sometime ago, but I never use it. Personally, it kind of freaks me out to think what some of these sites could do with the vast ammounts of personal information they now hold on millions of people.
