  5 and one half drums salted meat

  Storm Petrels and high cirrus to the east. Slow like the doldrums. Little movement since yesterday. Charting less than 4 knots by day, even less at night. The boor Jenkins took too enthusatically to the die aspect of Jenga. Now it's overboard, along with five pieces. No fun when the tower's run so low. Must ban games on the main deck. Still, good in calm conditions.

  Jenkins has become increasingly wayward and infuriating. Not sure I can tolerate another 6 weeks of his groaning and sharp sideways glances. "Trouble ahead, cap'n", I have no doubt. Keep an eye on him.
