  i tend to still feel that i'm as high on the intelligence ladder as i was when i was in elementary school, when i was near the top of my class. This results in my default position being that i am smarter than anyone i encounter and know more about what they're talking about than they do. That is of course until reality rushes in, throws a canvas sack over my head and beats me senseless.
