    also, I don't think you can expect a film to be a collection of predefined checkboxes to please an idea of historical accuracy toward the characters and legacy of the source material. A film needs to work on its own, and a writer/director has every right to use the source in any way he can to make it work as his work. I think that's why the Dark Knight was so popular with ALL types of film goers, because he didn't pander to the legacy of the books and took what he needed to of their essence to make a film that worked. Putting it into the 'real world' made it necessary to use the source differently
