I've been taught a good way to cook rice on the stove ... spend the money on something else and use this recipe.
1. Use 2 parts water to one part rice - wash rice thoroughly
2. Put water and rice in pan (needs a lid which fits snugly)
3. Bring to boil and simmer for 5 mins.
4. Switch off the gas / electric / whatever - and put the lid on.LEAVE IT FOR 25 MINUTES. Make sure the lid doesn't come off.
Once the time is up, your rice will be perfectly cooked. It's almost like magic.
