i think this movie will showcase for 2 people. the fans of the books will love it, the regular people who think this is a super hero movie will be left disappointed. i think that is the general problem regarding most comic2film movies, is that the general public who never heard of the characters or the story just instantly see costumes and see spider-man or superman in their heads and when its not they get pissed... that they lost a few hours and then get even more annoyed due to the amount of hype the flick may have gotten.

to me the hype is soley for the fans and no one else. the books stands on its own pedestal that most books dont even have even though they are monthly ships while this was more of a one shot graphic novel.. still though for the fans of the writing and the characters i think this movie will hold true to their highest beliefs and grant them only the satisfaction of the story.

the book itself has intense long dialogs that would last pages on pages, so to hear people already saying the movie is slow and has lots off dialog, then may be i suggest you read or even re-read the book... its rather on point to what the book is and where its roots stem from.

the top 3 comics2film ever made are still History of Violence, The GreeN Mile and Punisher [dolph lundgren] now however it may turn out watchmen will over take one of those 3 in that list as for the fans, this is said the most accurate adaptation of comics2film ever.

that said, most people wont like this movie as the fans base for this although huge in the comic community is rather small in relation to the general public.

look at Punisher, it by far one of the worst movies ever made...
      blog
    • even comic book fans have taste staying true to character does not equal quality acting/directionversion3
    • ..yet it is 100% true to the character from the books.blog
    • yes offcourse, but a movie that is truest to its original of the book holds more than success.blog
    • look at spider-man 3... that movie failed... it made up things that never existed in the books.blog
    • All three attempts at the punisher were TERRIBLE. THE PUNISHER? serious?
      ********
    • the first thing i want in any comic2film is pure accuracy of the characters in the books #1.blog
    • if that isnt reached to me the movie fails short.blog
    • the punisher movies all sucked bad bad bad, but the first one is the most accurate to the book.blog
    • that makes it in the comic community a very strong movie even though the flick sucked.blog
