    check out a few tracks of the album "Grand Forks" by Tom Brosseau

    Neko Case has a new album out that's supposed to be good

    I've been discovering Nick Lowe lately - the album "Jesus of Cool" is recommended

    if you think you might be interested in blues roots, I really like some Josh White songs like "Freedom Road"

    Feist's songs are always winners

    I've also started to listen to Big Star after incessant recommendation, but I'm having a little more trouble getting into them
