cinema in general is an unhappy art because it depends on money more than any other art form (even more than music). the success of a screen play is defined by how many people have watched it. So, the best movie is a movie which appeals to as many as possible. since the taste of the average mass public is of course also average, the favorite movies of the lemming crowd is always average good
most movies are made for people with average taste, but not for idiots, and not for very refined people
