Just leaving, but quickly.
gotoandPlay is a timeline control so if you're trying to affect movieclips that have been called onto your stage via actionscript you'll have no luck there.
As far as one clip starting when another stops you'll need event listeners within your script as well.
What are you trying to do? More of the guys here probably know more than I about AS3 — I don't use Flash much anymore.
