Lived in Barca a year. that hotel is in the center, but be sure to head up to Gracia, a cool neighborhood on the other side of diagonal, tourists dont know about it yet. and the red bikes you see everywhere aren't for rent, they're for locals to use as transport, sorry. but you can rent a moto for about 200 euros/month. definitely the best way to get around, but PT is simple there and cheap. and definitely keep your valuables in your front pockets. its a very safe city, but stay there long enough and you will get pickpocketed.
