This is what I would do:
I'd comment loudly and sincere-sounding:
"Something smells good..."
If you are attentive, you might catch the culprit glancing at you in confusion.
Then you slyly smile to the likely culprit.
Both of you will understand, though the culprit might find him /herself in a bit of embarrassment.
