there used to be a peta ad called meet your meat.

awful miserable stuff, greatly upsetting while you watch it.

but peta has always rubbed me the wrong way with the objectionable, over-zealous way they present their case. reminds in some small way of religious radicals or terrorism. scary actually. these are the types that support and fund blowing up of cancer research facilities because it's "cruelty to animals." i say then sign yourself up as a test subject, you pompous fuck.

one thing that has always stuck with me in the peta ad is it was narrated by alec baldwin. i have no idea what his agenda is or he was just paid to do a job, but i remember him delivering the message with some conviction and then not a few months later i remember hearing him do a voice over for a car commercial triumphing the all-leather interiors.

    • they grow those car seats in a vatkelpie
    • well Alec did that Hulu.com commercial, so I'm sure it's mostly for money.dropdown
    • completely agree about the forcefulness of their ads. rather than trying to explain things calmly, they feel they don't have the time and would rather stuff it down your throat.dropdown
