    @airey: The Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge are very close together over the East River. Their counterparts on the West side (Hudson River) are tunnels rather than bridges. You've got to head waaaaay up the Hudson to finally get to the George Washington Bridge. So I guess the GWB would be your "West River Bridge." And from what I've read, no, it does not feel neglected by jumpers. Not at all.
