oddly for an english guy, I like quite a few country guys, mainly because I'm a guitarist and some of the best guitarists are Nashville session players.
People like james burton, Albert Lee, Brent Mason but they're just guitar.I like a few current guys like Brad Paisley (great guitar player too), vince gill, all pretty cheesy but I respect the musicianship that comes out of nashville. I also like some of the newer bluegrass (or 'nu-grass' as it gets called). People like Nickel Creek can be pretty good. Bela fleck it amazing if you like banjos. Or check out Punch Brothers.
But hey, I'm english, what do I know about country music!
