Cuba is a country oppressed by a totalitarian communist system, people are enslaved there to work for $15/month. By going to a resort you feed the system, it can only last because of people like you.
I can't blame you for the desire to go to Cuba though, those are beautiful ruins of one of the most amazing places on earth.
I'd recommend going to a casa particular, or a few - rooms for rent at people's own houses. They're heavily taxed but at least some money will go to people, rather than their oppressors.- <-- 20th century thinking.TheBlueOne
