    I don't think "ism" is lofty, even in English, although there's an absolute quality to that suffix. It relates more to being stubborn or steady (which may or may not be a bad thing). Using "ism" attached to "flow" doesn't sound like a secluded theory to me, but more of a steady stream of constant output.
