For monospased, who confuses Golden Ratio (1:1.61) and A4 (1:1.41)

A4 is so used because you can tile an A0 sheet numerous times, and get the sheets with the same proportions, it is technically brilliant. But UGLY. Just like the font I use now to write this, Arial, will look the same on all computer, technically brilliant but UGLY.

You may like A4, you may even like Arial, and there are some scientifical prooves that Arial is the most legible typeface or something (which seems bullshit to me, people read best what they are used to) but I don't have to like it. Now GFY

    • I don't like Arial. I was wrong about the Golden Ratio, but the ratio isn't widely considered UGLY. I can we can agree to disagree.monospaced
    • disagree. Anyways, A4 is a nicer ratio than 2 x 3 1/2 (normal card), and it's nicer than Letter (8 1/2 x 11).monospaced
    • Agree to diagree then ;)jimbojones
    • I like Arial more than I like any other bullshit standard fonts. Except maybe Helvetica.juhls
