    Having read Milton Glaser's comments I am even more inclined to feel that Fairey's work is somewhat bankrupt and indicative of the contemporary malaise in the creative industry. Bottom line is he could not have made that image without the original photograph.

    Seeing the Fairey appropriaton of the Muller Brockman poster image confirms it beyond all doubt to me. Detached from the Obama arguement it becomes clear when looking at that example that it is rank plagiarism.

    A combination of 21st century digital laziness and a lack of the requisite drawing skills led Fairey to sample this image and he probably could have saved himself all the crap if he had just asked the photographer up front.
