Santa Barbara was the best place to grow up. More beautiful than most places I've visited in the world, including the best weather and gorgeous people.
San Diego has too many freeways and is very spread out. It was good for college, but I wouldn't go back. Not as beautiful or temperate as Santa Barbara.
San Francisco has lots of culture. Not nearly as beautiful or temperate as Santa Barbara, but it makes up for it in style and diversity. Too many homeless people and too few children.
New York City is everything it's cracked out to be. It doesn't smell like a natural place, and the weather is insane. The culture, diversity and style are on-par with any major world city. It's expensive, but worth the experience so far.
