hahha "NAU is real" thanks for making my day... Now can someone explain why Canada would want that?

Our economy is based on a low value currency, our natural resources are at the heart of our system and it's better for us to sell when our dollar is lower... free trade makes sense because it breaks down the barriers of trade but changing currency would be just as bad as when our dollar was worth more than the US currency. The service industry (the second largest part of GDP) would also not benefit at all from this, think exporting here and you'll understand...

So really, this is a cute American idea by why would we want to share this with you? what's in it for us? We own your oil, your lumber, fresh water and pretty much all of the other resources you need for your economy. Have you noticed how Russia doesn't bend backwards for the EU? They know they hold the reins, see what happens when they just cut supplies off over a misunderstanding? If Canada gets aggressive about trading, in the long run we're bound to have the upper hand.

Obama can't even re-open NAFTA because they know the USofA are screwed if they do.
