the thing that infuriates me about all this recent stuff is pretty much encapsulated in this excerpt from the graudian:
"Clarkson's latest indiscretion follows hot on the heels of the storm surrounding BBC One Show presenter Carol Thatcher being thrown off the programme for referring to male tennis player as a "golliwog" while off-air.
BBC has received more than 2,200 complaints over its decision to drop the former prime minister's daughter."
1. The papers turning this into a news worth narrative of sequential events
2. The Tennis player in question was fucking Andy Murray for christ's sake (making the remark a dodgy association to curly hair rather than a racial slur)
3. HOW can any nominally sane adult not know that a term like that is off limits these days?! blows my mind, the tube
4. Complaints about complaints about complaints, moaning reactionary nonsense
