Thank you for responding. Between Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese there are a lot of differences which probably won't ever be solved.

Much more than English and North-American English, which has kept the same grammatical structure, the differences between European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese are grammatical and no one will ever concede to the other.

There's a new governmental agreement about orthography between both countries but I doubt that will ever come to any practical effect.

I, for one, will never oblige to it, and all the people I've get in touch with in Portugal (and Brazil) are not very happy with it also. We, the people, would rather prefer that our common language could just run free from politicians.

    • Very much like North American English and the, uh, Queen's English I 'spose.

    • German has crazy amounts of dialectical change throughout the country. French too but mostly in the catalan south.

    • Europe sucks, in that matter. But still is important data. It's funny how people dont seem to care about it.Corvo2
