Most people mentioned are not using their wealth or means to change the world to the point of a metaphysical mutation. There are no revolutions happening, so no power is being used. These pictures assume the potential power of these individuals.
If we were measuring intelligence the metaphorical equivalent would be choosing people that have knowledge but are not applying it, but this is not intelligent. Intelligence is applied knowledge.
The known event of the future that will change the world completely is the singularity. This is predicted in our lifetime, therefore computer scientists today working towards this aim are wielding their power and will eventually be proven to have been the most powerful people in the world.
