I was watching some indie movie about an irish street busker who cut a demo cd and was about to leave his elderly father to move to london to try to make it in the music business. It was clear they were going to miss each other terribly, but each knew it was something that had to be done, and the father willingly, even eagerly embraced loneliness for the welfare of his son. As I watched this scene I unexpectedly burst into tears, thinking of our daughter, who is moving into her first apartment on March 1
