The Irish economy is also a bit fucked. Huge inflation - massive rip-offs etc but i still think the Euro is good. The no voters are usually just protectionist and short sighted.
The economic problems that surfaced with the onset of the Euro are more to do with the host governments mismanagement and poor fiscal policies that became exposed with the onset of the Euro. The Eu has stricter guidelines for equating inflation and budget management.
One thing which is great is travelling around europe and not needing to worry about exchanging money.
