God himself will return and all things will be restored to their once perfect state. The earth itself will be perfect. From a Christian perspective it is often thought that when we die we will go to some far off place where we float on clouds....the truth is we will be here on earth....a completely restored earth. I believe many of things that exist today will exist in the afterlife...we will have eternity to grow, learn, explore, create and all the other things we can do currently, just on a completely new scale. Sin will be eradicated.
