Oh man, I had a similar experience. I was biking around as a kid and came across this cat in an alley. Being the animal lover that I was I pull my bike over to the cat to pet it. The stupid cat thinks I'm going to attack it or something so it jumps up and bites into my arm and holds on for dear life. I had to punch it to get it off.
I didn't go near a cat for years after that until recently, one of my friends has the friendliest, laziest stoner cat that's really down for people. It's more like a dog than a cat.
