btw, my previous post about the fox in my garden triggered a doubt in me: "Fox" as a noun, has a gender, like "ship" (which i know is feminine)? And what gender is it? Or it is just generically an "it"?
I guess i'll never overcome these details of English language.

    • it. animals are generally “it” unless talking about gender roles, mating, parenting...MrOneHundred
    • ...except birds which are often referred to as “the male” and “the female” due to...MrOneHundred
    • ...normally very different plumage colourings between the genders.MrOneHundred
    • Animals are usually both or no gender, I believe. It's weird how these things are determined. Just from people saying it.Jaline
    • Except also when they are anomorphosised, like with pets.MrOneHundred
    • Aren't female foxes called vixens?locustsloth
