    I can go either way really. I would try and get a feel for anyone potential roomies first:

    -try and meet them beforehand, go out to lunch with them or some other sort of social activity

    -see if you can see them in their current living situation (this is huge and will give you an excellent idea of what to expect)

    -never agree to live with someone because you're in a pinch
