If you really just want a large screen, Toshiba and HP have 17" laptops for around $2k. Yup, 17". On top of that, they come with P4 3.06 chips, good graphics, etc. Really nice package and the screens are supposed to be awesome.
That's cheap!! The draw back is that they each weigh over 10 lbs. Take a look if all you want is a desktop replacement, you can't beat them and I am sure Dell and others are making some as we speak. It will be the next 'growth' sector of the market (see new PC Mag for reviews).
