i knew someone that did production on this in nyc, he followed them around in a van full of gear. it's mostly not staged, though you don't see a lot of what goes down, it gets edited out. they have to capture a whole bunch of them to get enough content for the show. obviously some don't work out depending on a variety of variables when you're driving people around the city.
