Hmmm...Blind Melon does seem to be a one-hit wonder, depending on the person.
http://www.google.ca/search?hl=e…"One-hit wonder" has a meaning that is not exactly subjective. But I can see why fans may continue to follow work. I think it means that they had a chart-topping hit, and then nothing on the charts (or close to the top, at least) after.
