Hey John,
Personally I don't think green is a bad color to use at all, just the shades that you are using right now could be tweaked. Also, I would lose the trippy background and go with possibly a lighter gray gradient or even white (if you made the white portions of the site have a subtle inner-shadow to offset it from the back) or a more subtle pattern.Something closer to this shade of green that you are already using on your site and gray might be nice....

The design is solid, but the colors might trigger a migraine for some people :) My two cents, hope it helps!
