I flew out from the UK out to Australia a couple of years ago. The aim initially was just to travel, but I found a great job at an agency in Sydney and ended up staying for close to two years.
I know there's a lot of competition between Sydney and Melbourne, and that people usually squabble over which is best, but I definitely found Sydney to be a good option if you're used to the busy work-life of London, yet want to head out to the beach at the weekend...
If only my folks lived out there, I'd probably have stayed.
