You are right, the car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, granted.
But a car loses thousands as soon as you buy it new, so to spend so much on a car when its new is just money pissed down the drain.
If the car was about $22,000 new and you spent $10,000+ on it I doubt youd get close to the $32,000 you are after.
