  With regard to what he used to do...

  I read his book Trick of the Mind and it was actually a good read in a very disposable way. He was raised in a sort of pseudo-cultish Christian environment. very strict, no mixing with the heathens, and total adherence to the community's rules, beliefs and Dogma. Then he got about 18 or so and suddenly realised the whole thing was an illusion, and in breaking that illusion he became fascinated with the way people can be mainipulated. People just like me, who somnambulated into Waterstones and handed over good money for Trick Of The Mind, By Derren Brown.
