over here in Ireland we have a long history of terroism. I have lived my whole life with the processes of terrorism. I has given me time to think about it and realise what causes it and how it works.

The IRA have very very very little popular support but if Britain had continued as they started or acted like the US is acting now that would be so very different. Its only after decades of violence and trouble that we are seeing the tentative steps towards peaceful consensus. That is on the political front but in Northern Ireland on the ground the hatred is still very much alive.

The reason I am saying this is because the way the Bush administration thinks it can stamp out terroism fills me with fear. It fills me with fear for the American people, the people of the Middle East and the world as a whole. As i have said before terrorism is reactionary and Osama Bin Laden is reacting to something he sees as a threat not that he just decided to attack for no reason.

The reasons for terrorism in Ireland were more clear. It was a direct colonial occupation but the imperialist drive of the US is more complicated and is affecting more countries worldwide. The actions that the Bush administration are simply going to increase the hatred towards the US and it will lead to more attacks.

I have to repeat again and again that im not US bashing its just a difficult and important time and it will affect us all.
