Good question.
I too was looking for a new monitor and now i gave up.
I tried the 22" NEC FP2141BK
I went through 4 of them in a month. They all stretched the top row of icons.I also tried the 22" LG N2200P It was really nice BUT it had a dark area on the screen, so i returned it.
Good luck with your choice and let me know what you ended up gettting.
