Jevad. liked that piece
It was one of the most recorded and widely experienced atrocities. I remember exactly where I was and how I felt. shock and awe.
But I feel the same when I see the effects of Oil wars in Iraq, civil wars in africa, and the effects of terrorism here in Ireland, the Middle East and elsewhere so I find it hard to make a special event of 9/11. to me a life lost to terrorism/war in New York is no less tragic than the loss of life in Liberia or elsewhere.
I do find it hard to not think that soldiers are simply terrorists with uniforms. Whether you use the most sophisticated weapons available or suicide bombing the sickening effect is the same.
I dont think you need a special day to remember those who have lost their lives to terrorism/war and those who continue to suffer and die every single day.
While you pray for those that lost their lives spare a moment for the millions who continue to live under threat from war.
