I was getting up that morning to pack with the friend I was moving to Chicago with. (lived in Dallas-Ft. Worth suburbs then)
My mom called hysterical from her office in Dallas saying either "They're crashing planes into the WTC," or "There "are" planes crashing..."
She always has a small tv at work but that day she did not for some reason.
I remember calling the friend I was moving with to tell him to go to the TV, but he didn't believe us, told us we were kidding around. I remember the biggest "Holy Sh--!" from him when he finally saw we were not joking around.
All I wanted to do was sit in front of the TV, but we had to pack all day.
It was very weird to be moving the the third largest city in the US.
