My major problem with Smallville is the way that they have introduced just about everyone in the Superman world while he is a teenager making it even more unlikely that the incredible disguise of a pair of glasses and a side parting could work.
In the Smallville world he will go to work at the planet and every fucker will know him as Clark and they will all be "oh wow, didn't know you wore glasses" then some shit will go down and he'll appear all Suped up and the reaction wont be "who is that amazing man" it'll be "Clark, why the fuck have you got your undies on the outside? and who the fuck wears a cape apart from Frank Costanza's lawer?"
It's gone on too long.
