Sure he can do what he likes. So can I. But why does he have to perform for us. I don't want it or like it. If that's the reason he does these things, as an artistic statement then he's very successful.
But it's his whole 'the world's on my shoulders attitude.' He seems to present himself as some kind of martyr, as if he's pushing himself for the good of all of us. As if he's pushing his limits as if it's a calling and we should bow down and honour his great sacrifice.
Well, i don't agree. I don't see how standing on a pole or in a box helps us all.And no, I don't get performance art. I'm not interested in watching some Looney spread pate onto a carpet tile!
