-canter's on fairfax, just south of melrose. great sandwiches. saw tommy lasorda here last week.
-the snake pit, small dive bar at melrose and sierra bonita. i used to live a block away. love this place.
-the farmer's market on fairfax and 3rd, i think. lot's of good food, and there's the grove adjacent to it if you need to shop.
-milk on beverly, just east of la brea. good for lunch. great desserts. and the lacma is close if you want to look at some art afterwards.that's all i've got off the top of my head. they're pretty close to where you'll be staying.
