    in my perception, there's something like a switch that comes on when you have a child of your own that makes you far more compassionate for people who's children die. For most, the love of a child is a type of affection that is unmatched anywhere in life. i just plain ol' couldn't conceive of the anxiety that just thinking of losing a child induces before i actually had a kid.
