I watched this programme about the kkk a little while ago where this guy had managed to become friends with them and got into the rituals and parties to film them. A lot of the people were basically just mixed up, fucked up, lost souls who had gone through hellish upbringings and were basically just glad to have fitted into a group, any group. They didn't actually talk any hatred just about themselves..
I think there's probably a lot of misunderstanding about the current kkk, dont get me wrong I think they're cunts for things they have done and I hold no such beliefs remotely similar - I just always try to look beyond the surface of things, admittedly sometimes, that is more than its worth.
