The Harvey Milk School (HMS) is an inclusive New York City public high school focusing on the needs of children who are in crisis or at risk because of physical and/or emotional harm caused by their peers in a traditional educational environment. The Harvey Milk School is one of the many New York City small schools like the Frederick Douglas Academy, the Young Women’s Leadership School and the Urban Academy Laboratory School that provide safety, community, and high achievement for students who were not able to benefit from more traditional school environments.
