In the edn it's up to you to decided how good o a friend he is. I was in similar situation once (i was the one who owned the money). I was so broke and really couldn't pay. I told my friend that times are tough, but i'll be able to pay for sure when i get the money in 2 months. He said Ok. And i did pay him in 2 months. If he's a really good friend (only you can judge that( he will pay. Othervise he's just one of the people that come and go... Meaning he's not a friend so you shouldn't feel bad treating him like a business person.
